Join The Polish Ambassador, Ayla Nereo, the Permaculture Action team, Growing Together, and Common Vision on April 25th and 26th after the show at the Fox Oakland Theatre for an ENTIRE weekend of Permaculture Action!

Day 1: Saturday, April 25th

The BIG Action Day @ the Gill Tract Community Farm

San Pablo & Marin Ave., Albany, CA

10:00am – 5:00pm

Celebrate the 45th Anniversary of Earth Day with urban farming, workshops, panel discussions, and fun in the spirit of the 45 year history of the Gill Tract Farm.  We will build a resilient food system in the interest of the next 7 generations!

  • Hands-on permaculture projects and opening ceremony
  • Creating a Just Transition panel discussion with Penny Livingston, Art Ludwig, Dr. Gail Myers, Kirtrina Baxter & Gopal Dayaneni
  • Live music by Cello Joe, Splendor, and AshEL Eldridge
  • Aztec Dancers: Calpulli Huey Papalotl
  • Performances, workshops, and shared food/POTLUCK; and Special Guest @ 5pm
  • The East Bay premiere of INHABIT permaculture documentary

Day 2: Sunday, April 26th 

1) Three Year Birthday Party of the Gill Tract Community Farm 10:00am – 5:00pm

Plant this season’s seedlings and the Ladybug Patch child-led learning & growing space

2)  Join in preparing for the Creating the Commons Festival (which will be May 9th) with hands-on water recycling and urban food planting (including neighborhood street orchards!)

3)  GreenFriends Farm:  Learn about micro-life based strategies for soil fertility and water retention as we thin apple trees, mulch & add compost to this 650-tree hillside permaculture farm
