SUMMARY:Sonic Bloom Permaculture Action Academy Series
DESCRIPTION:The Permaculture Action Series lets you get your hands dirty at Hummingbird Ranch before Sonic Bloom begins.  Learn about permaculture while creating a more sustainable festival site. \nLearn more and register >>> http://sonicbloomfestival.com/academy/permaculture/ \n\n\n\n \n\n\nPermaculture comes from the terms “permanent agriculture\,” or more broadly\, “permanent culture\,” and encompasses a design process by which humans can create relationships of mutual benefit with the natural world and with each other that provide for an abundance of human needs. The tools and technologies of permaculture exhibit how humans can move away from an extractive\, exploitative paradigm with the earth and one another\, and towards systems of symbiosis\, ecological regeneration\, and community.\n\n\n \n\n\n• Learn the design principles and process of permaculture\n\n\n• Gain hands-on skills to directly transform the world around you\n\n\n• Relate to the earth symbiotically to create your food\, shelter\, water and energy\n\n\n• Get training in community building and action planning for a better world\n\n\n• Dig into practical tools for ecological regeneration with experienced practitioners\n\n\n \n\n\nEXPERIENCE:\n\n\n• 21 class-hours of world-class educational experience\n\n\n• 2 healthy meals per day (brunch and dinner)\n\n\n• Connections with like minded people\n\n\n• Be among the first people on site\n\n\n• First priority shaded and creekside camping included\n\n\n• Free time in pristine Colorado nature \n\n\n• Hiking\, biking\, relaxing in the creek\n\n\n• Free filtered water included all week\n\n\n• Yoga class each morning\n\n\n• Campfires each night\n\n\n\nFacilitators:  \n\n~ Ryan Rising ~\n \n\n\n \n\n\nRyan Rising is a community organizer and permaculture educator most recently known for organizing the Permaculture Action Tour. SUMMARY:Sonic Bloom Permaculture Action Day
DESCRIPTION:June 16th\, before Sonic Bloom Festival begins\, come to the Permaculture Action Day at District ONE Farm at John Mall High School in Walsenburg – https://www.facebook.com/events/230070644039546/ \n\nOn your way to SONIC BLOOM 2016\, Colorado\, come to the local community farm to put down energy into a lasting regenerative space that will provide nutrient-rich\, organic food to the people of Walsenburg\, Colorado. The second poorest county with the worst nutrition on record in the state\, Walsenburg is building an organic\, community farm to create greater food access to the people. \n\n\n \n\n\nSONIC BLOOM has found its home at Hummingbird Ranch 20 minutes away\, and it’s time to create reciprocal relationships of soldiarity between us\, the festival community\, and the local communities that welcome us into their homes. Between the beginning of the permaculture design and implementation plan of Hummngbrid Ranch\, and the creating of the nearby farm and community center in Walsenburg\, we’re creating the interconnected\, regenerative world we all have been talking about. \n\n\n \n\n\nJoin the Permaculture Action Network for a day of installing a rainwater harvesting and irrigation system\, constructing low-tunnel greenhouses\, installing a proper composting system\, and building and planting raised beds. \n\n\n \n\n\nAs always\, we’ll have a celeratory convergence of workshops\, music\, shared meals\, and discussions on furthering the transition to a just and regenerative world\, integrating our communities into the patterns of the natural world. And\, as always\, the Permaculture Action Day is absolutely FREE and everyone is welcome to attend – whether you are staying for the festival or not. This is about coming together as community to take action and start building the world we want to see. \n\n\n \n\n\nWant to learn how to design through a permaculture framework? How to catch and store water in the soil through earthworks? How to design food forests and productive polycultures of plants that will produce year after year? How to design ecovillages and organize your own community and neighborhood? \n\n\nJoin us for the SONIC BLOOM Academy • Permaculture Action Series in the three days before the festival starts – June 13th-16th. With an incredible team of facilitators\, this course will prepare you with the skills and tools we all need to transition to a more ecologically-integrated\, community-oriented way of living. \n\n\nGet the details and register at http://sonicbloomfestival.com/academy/permaculture/
