DESCRIPTION:Hands-On Projects\, Music\, Food\, & Community Action \n\n\nbefore SONIC BLOOM 2018  begins \n\n\non Thursday\, June 14th\, 10am – 4pm \n\n\nat District ONE Farm @ John Mall High School\n\n\n355 W. Pine St.\, Walsenburg\, CO\n\n\nOn the day Sonic Bloom Festival begins\, before the evening performances spark off the weekend\, we will gather at District ONE Farms in nearby Walsenburg to take action for a brighter future. Music\, hands-on projects\, workshops\, food\, and community has been the best way to start Sonic Bloom for the last three years in a row; and this year we want to share it with you. \nHands-On Projects include:\n– Planting Trees & Perennial Guilds on the Swales\n– Chicken Tractor Build\n– Planting Herbs & Flowers\n– Mushroom Inoculation\n– Building Compost & Resource Bins\n– Applying Compost Tea\n– Building Tire Foundation of Greenhouse at High School\n– Installing Insulation & Water Barrels in Greenhouse\n– Constructing Barrelponics System\n– Building Wicking Beds for Greenhouse\n– Painting Rain Barrels \n  \n  \n*SCHEDULE*\n10:00am Welcome to Arrive; Yoga w/ Yogardener\n10:30am Opening Circle\, and Ceremony w/ Scott Barta\n11:00am Hands-On Projects Begin!\n11:30am Sound System Starts Up w/ Sonic Warrior Music\n12:00pm All-Day Lunch Spread\n12:30pm Fruit Tree Grafting Demonstration w/ Vanessa Harmony \n1:00pm JaJa DJ Set\n2:00pm Sonic Warrior DJ Set (Live Mixing)\n2:30pm Biodynamics Application Hands-On Workshop w/ Stone Hunter\n3:00pm Live Performance by Mike Wird\n4:00pm Wrap Up at the Farm and head to Hummingbird Ranch \n*WORKSHOPS*  \nBiodynamics Application Hands-On Workshop w/ Stone Hunter:  In this hands on workshop we will work with understanding how and when to use the Biodynamic Preparations. We will stir and apply these therapeutic treatments on the land \nGrafting Demonstration w/ Vanessa Harmony: Vanessa Harmony is an arborist and permaculturist working at Central Rocky Mountain Permaculture Institute. We’ll enjoy a meal there together after working on projects at the farms and before heading in to Sonic Bloom to get down for the weekend. \n
