DESCRIPTION:Join us for the southernmost stop on the Permaculture Action Network’s Solidarity Tour with Rising Appalachia.  \nShow up in support of Food Sovereignty & Security and Alternative Economies \nGrow On Urban Farms – 2358 Urquhart Street\, New Orleans\, Louisiana \nDecember 8th\, 2018 10 AM – 5 PM  CST \nProjects will include : \n– Rebuilding Outdoor Community Kitchen\n– Installing a Rain Garden\n– Planting Fruit Trees and Other Perennials\n– Turning and Sifting Compost\n– Building a 2nd Story for Shipping Containers\n– Clearing and Re-Beautifying Adjoining Lot \n*SCHEDULE*\n \n10:00am    Welcome to Arrive!\n10:30am     Opening Circle (Land & Peoples’ Acknowledgement\n11:00am      Pecan Milk Making Workshop w/ Stan\n11:30am       GroundWork NOLA’s Youth Green Team present on rain gardens\n12:00pm      Letter Writing to Incarcerated Folks & Seed Packet Stuffing w/ Solitary Gardens\n12:30pm      Free Feral music (30 minute set)\n1:00pm        Jambalaya and Lunch Spread open up (free!)\n1:15pm        Lydia Violet music (45 minutes)\n1:00pm      Native Plant Walk or Fire Cider Making w/ Rachel Reeves\n1:30pm      Decolonizing the History of New Orleans & Indigenous Histories\n2:00pm      Food Apartheid and the History of Southern Crops w/ Jamal from SUA\n2:30pm     Twanz DJ set\n3:00pm      MadeGroceries live hip-hop set\n3:30pm      Zero Waste Workshop w/ Corinne from Pussy PowerHouse\n4:00pm     Mushroom Growing Workshop demonstration w/ All You Need Institute\n5:00pm     Clean up and get ready for community Art Walk\n \nA jambalaya and lunch spread will be offered at 1pm (free!); feel free to bring something to add to the potluck!
