SUMMARY:Permaculture Action Hub @ Sonic Bloom Festival
DESCRIPTION:Find the Permaculture Action Hub at Sonic Bloom Festival for three days of workshops\, skill-shares\, and discussions on regenerating ecological systems\, community organizing\, and building a more just and sustainable world. \n \nWorkshop Descriptions (Partial)\nLogistics of Liberation: Permaculture and Power w/ Ryan Rising\n \nWhat is it really going to take to liberate ourselves from the exploitative\, extractive systems we are living within? How can we re-inhabit space\, and see that re-inhabiting of space as one of the most revolutionary acts we can take? How can we interact with the material infrastructure of our world to collectively slow and stop the mechanisms of ecological devastation and human harm? Power is logistic. \nSocial Permaculture and Community Action w/ Ryan Rising \n \nHow can the lens of permaculture—the mimicking of nature’s patterns and principles—inform the way we design both the ecological systems of food\, water\, and shelter that give us life\, and the social systems of how we make decisions\, come together as people\, and build resilient communities? How can we take effective action to create viable life-affirming alternatives to the extractive and exploitative systems that we seek to replace? Ryan Rising of the Permaculture Action Network will start this session with an introduction to permaculture design and lead into a conversation that takes its application beyond forest gardens\, rainwater catchment systems\, and natural building to how we can cultivate effective collaborative groups and communities capable of taking action towards realizing a more just and regenerative world. Ryan will also touch on the work of the Permaculture Action Network over the last four years of organizing over 84 Permaculture Action Days across the country after concerts and before music festivals where hundreds gather to directly implement regenerative systems in their communities. Step into this in-depth session on ecological design\, regenerative living systems\, how to take direct action for a just and sustainable world\, forming healthy collaborative groups\, and community organizing. \nIntro to Biodynamics & Homeopathy w/ Stone Hunter \nStudy the Science of the Spirit and the Alchemy of Biodynamics. Learn about living architecture designing therapeutic homes\, efforts being made to clean the waters\, air and land through homeopathic potencies\, and how we can work physically and spiritually to enliven ourselves and our communities. \nMedicine Wheel: An Indigenous Presentation w/ Scott Barta\n \nMedicine Wheel: an indignenous presentation on the four food groups\, four seasons\, and four cycles of life. \nThe Solar Revolution & How to Get Involved w/ Brittney Heller & Jim Payne \nSolar is getting cheaper by day\, even with the current administration’s opposition. Distributed energy sources are the way to a more democratic and equitable future for people and the planet. Come learn about trends happening in the renewable industry as well as ways to get involved. \nSoil Microecology & Compost Tea w/ Ryan Bruno \nCome learn about how microbes\, in their many uses and applications\, can enrich the health of your garden. We will cover the basics of making bokashi\, compost tea as well as other hands-on techniques that you can use to turn “waste” into magic! \nInternational Carnival Games w/ Robin Eden & Crew \nA mini-workshop series of eight games that have action and intellectual content. Catch us on Thursday and Friday 4-6pm outside the Permaculture Action Hub. \nThe Physics of Relationship: Drawing on Patterns from Nature w/ Eliot Kersgaard \nDrawing on the rules and patterns of nature to better understand the structures and dynamics of relationships\, from cell to society. An exploration of how fractal patterns and entropy create the dynamic structures of our internal and external worlds. \nHigh Altitude Permaculture & Sustainable Farm Living w/ Blaise Terrebonne \nTips for newcomers farming at higher elevation in rocky mountains. How to tailor your daily life to maintain a sustainable farm and tune your land into a more sustainable creation. \n  \n \n
